A Sermon Series on the Book of James
During the month of May, we will take a brief detour from the Narrative Lectionary to focus on the Epistle of James.
Martin Luther once famously dissed the Book of James as “an epistle of straw” because he thought that the book put too much emphasis on good words and not enough on faith. But most interpreters have not seen a conflict; instead, they interpret James as saying that genuine faith leads to good works. Indeed, many Christians have found the Book of James to have a lot of practical wisdom for living out a day-by-day faith, almost like a New Testament version of Proverbs.
Join us on Sundays during the month of May as we explore the Book of James together.
