Matthew 25 Church
Covenant is a Matthew 25 church. The needs in our neighborhood and other places near and far are great, but serving in love is what God calls us to do. What that means for us is that in addition to our financial contributions, our education and activities focus on the denomination’s Matthew 25 commitment to creating healthy, just communities and a radically inclusive world through our efforts toward building congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism, and eradicating systemic poverty. Our efforts are focused both locally and globally through our Mission and Health & Wellness activities.
Health & Wellness Support
We seek to enhance the health and wellbeing of the people in our congregation and in our surrounding communities. The World Health Organization constitution states: "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." An important implication of this definition is that mental health is more than just the absence of mental disorders or disabilities. Covenant addresses these needs through our newsletters, education programs, group activities, mission activities as well as referrals to and collaboration with outside individuals and organizations.
