Offering of Letters
Covenant will hold a Bread for the World Offering of Letters on Sunday, April 26, after worship in the Fellowship Hall. We’ll have sample letters, paper and pens, and addresses of our Senators and Representatives in Congress.
Bread for the World is a Christian advocacy organization urging U.S. decision makers to do all they can to pursue a world without hunger. We hear Jesus' call to feed hungry people and Covenant's first response was to create the South Palo Alto Food Closet. Years ago our government decided that it was important to feed people through a variety of programs such as SNAP, WIC, US AID, etc.
By taking part in Bread for the World’s Offering of Letters, we will remind our elected officials that feeding people is still important, especially since the federal government provides about 10 times as much food assistance as churches and charities…
