This project is important to me because as a child nearsightedness made it hard for me to perform my best in class and life. It is critical to help give others to opportunity to be able to see clearly so that they too can pursue their dreams. As a Christian, I believe that even small things like collecting old glasses to donate are part of the things that we can do to spread God’s love with our community and beyond. It also ensures that something that would otherwise go into the waste stream is given a purpose in helping others. I hope that your congregation can help make this possible. -Bethany Liu
Bethany Liu, who has taken on this project along with her brother, is a sophomore at Palo Alto High School and a member of the student leadership team at Menlo Church. They are partnering with Lions Recycle For Sight.
