Jesus Blesses the Children
It says in the Bible, that people brought their children to Jesus for a blessing, but the disciples tried to stop them.
“Jesus doesn’t have time to talk to children,” they might have said. “He has more important things to do.”
When Jesus saw what was happening, it made him angry. He told the disciples,
“Don’t send the little ones away, bring them to me. I always have time for them!”
The children trusted Jesus. They understood they didn’t have to dress up, or behave a certain way, or do anything special for Jesus to love them. He loved them just because. His love was a gift.
“You see,” Jesus told his disciples. “This is how to enter the kingdom of God – with the simple, trusting heart of a child.”
One Great Hour of Sharing
Each gift to One Great Hour of Sharing supports efforts to relieve hunger through the Presbyterian Hunger Program, promote development through the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People, and assist in areas of disaster through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
