Worship

At Covenant, we celebrate and grow in our faith through Word, prayer, and song. Our services emphasize congregational participation in liturgy, prayers, and hymns. We share God’s word in challenging sermons, scripture based on the Common Lectionary, a Children’s Moment, and uplifting organ, choral, and congregational music. Our services reflect many traditional Christian and Presbyterian elements, but we also enjoy surprises – sometimes trumpets or a choir anthem that gets an “Amen,” an offertory from the Covenant Ringers, colorful new sanctuary banners to enhance our worship environment, or maybe even a visit from an angel or a Biblical “bad guy” in a sermon. And always, we share joys and concerns in prayer and go out into our daily lives, refreshed, restored, renewed by our common joy in worshiping together. and of course to honor the sacrifices and teachings of the Lord.

Children Praying

Christian Education for Children

We offer a broad assortment of programs for children that focus on the spiritual, and emotional lessons the Christian faith teach us.

Sunday School Classes for Children

One brand new thing that we are very excited about for fall 2019 is that Sunday School for our elementary children will take place during Worship.  At the time that was previously the “Children’s Moment,” children from preschool age to age eleven will adjourn to Room 4 to dig more deeply into the stories of our faith.

We believe that this new format will work better for our families and that it will be very meaningful for our children.

Confirmation Class

As numbers and age warrant, Covenant offers young people Grade 6 and older an opportunity to become full members of the Covenant church family by completing a confirmation class which teaches them about the responsibilities and meaning of church membership.  For information about Confirmation classes, contact the pastor.

Childcare

Childcare for infants through children in grade 2 is available on Sunday mornings during our regular worship time.

Youth Ministry

Covenant Youth are a very active part of the church.  They help lead in worship and participate in their own Christian Education.  Our youth travel each year to MoRanch in Texas for the Multicultural Youth Conference.  The youth have participated in mission trips to Alaska, Guatemala, and Puerto Rico.  They had planned and run fundraisers to help people less fortunate than themselves.  They are amazing!
