Sunday Worship
Sunday worship begins at 10:45 a.m., from Labor Day through the end of the school year in June. In summer, we worship at 10:00 a.m., and we share a union worship series with some of our local sister churches in August. Seasonally, we celebrate special church observances, from Advent and Christmas Eve through Holy Week and Easter Sunday to Pentecost, the "birthday" of the church. Children and youth are an integral part of our regular and special worship observances, both as participants in the Children's Moment and prayers and occasionally as worship assistants; child care is provided for infants and children through second grade.
Recordings Available
Have you ever missed a Sunday and wanted to hear the sermon from that weekend, the goings-on of the church, or the wonderful music we enjoy? Every Sunday service and most other worship services are recorded, and we currently provide CDs of those recordings to a few members who are unable to attend services regularly. The recordings are also digitized and can be downloaded on request. If you would like to start receiving recordings, or if you are away and would like to get the recordings for services you miss, please contact Geoff Sheau or one of the other Deacons.
Sacraments
We serve Communion on the first Sunday of each month. We invite all who profess faith in Christ, including baptized children, to celebrate the Lord's Supper with us. We serve Home Communion to our hospitalized and homebound members. We also observe the Sacrament of Baptism as the occasion arises, with newborns, confirmation students, and new members.
Worship Volunteer Opportunities
- Worship Assistant: weekly participants in worship leadership who read scripture and other portions of the service.
- Ushers and Greeters: members who welcome worshipers and newcomers, and who act as service ushers.
- Elders and Deacons who help serve communion.
- Members of the Worship Ministry who help plan special and seasonal services, assist with Sanctuary decorating, flowers, banners, and more.
