On Saturday, October 15, Covenant Presbyterian Church hosted a Japan Relief Benefit Concert and Silent Auction. Many members contributed their musical talents, as the choir, bell choir, soloists, and ensembles (piano, organ, horn, harp, flute, and viola) played and sang a variety of hymns and classical pieces. Members also generously contributed items for the silent auction.
We want to express our gratitude to the community members who attended and gave generously. The event raised over $3,600, 100% of which is going to Japan Relief. Total fundraising in our congregation equals over $4,500.
We give thanks to God, who is with us even in the midst of suffering, for the success of our efforts. We continue in prayer for the people of Japan as they continue to recover from the terrible earthquake and tsunami.
