Faith Works

South Palo Alto Food Closet

Covenant houses and supports the South Palo Alto Food Closet, a neighborhood resource for dozens of needy families, in Room 9.  First Sunday Food donations, Memorial gifts at Christmas and Easter, special needs offerings, and member volunteer helpers, have sustained this local mission for more than 35 years.  For more information, see the city resource website here and a monthly update here.

Covenant Children's Center

The non-denominational Covenant Children's Center has provided weekday care and pre-school program for infants and children through kindergarten age in our Sunday School classrooms for 35 years.  For more information, see their website here.

InnVision/Urban Ministry Lunch Program

This Saturday lunch program, supported by InnVision and staffed by rotating teams from local churches, offers food and fellowship to the needy in Covenant's kitchen, Fellowship Hall, and patio, weekly.  For more information, see their website here.

CWS/CROP Hunger Walk

Covenant annually participates in the Bay Area CWS/CROP (Church World Service/Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk, raising funds in support of efforts, locally and globally, to address the needs of the hungry while raising awareness.  Learn more about the CWS/CROP Hunger Walk here.

Alternative Giving Programs

This Advent program offers members a chance to give a gift that keeps giving by making a donation to a program of their choice and sending a handmade card to the honoree.  Programs supported by Alternative Giving have included organizations like Habitat for Humanity, the Ecumenical Hunger Program, the Opportunity Center of Palo Alto, and more.

Green at Covenant

An active group of Covenant members is working to review Covenant's environmental "footprint" and plan ways to improve our stewardship of our part of God's world by evaluating our use of paper products, utilities, and more.  They are working to educate all of us about recycling and conserving energy in a responsible way.

Community Outreach Programs

Covenant's facilities are used regularly for community programs like the Boy Scouts, 12-step programs, and for other service and cultural programs.

i-Church Korean Presbyterian Congregation

Covenant has welcomed a fledgling Korean Presbyterian congregation to our campus since 2007.  For information about their worship and education programs, see their website here.
