60th Anniversary Celebration

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, COVENANT!
On November 20, we celebrated Covenant’s 60th Anniversary as a community of faith with a special Anniversary Potluck Lunch and commemorative program in Fellowship Hall after worship. On commitment Sunday in this year’s Stewardship Campaign, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we gave thanks for sixty years and rejoice in the promises of what comes next.

We dusted off our favorite potluck recipes and joined the fun and the thanksgiving in the time of harvest for 60 years of worship, fellowship, and sharing God’s blessings.

Many current and former members were able to join us for the 60th Anniversary Celebration on November 20. Several people who couldn't attend dropped us a note which is posted with other anniversary messages in the Fellowship Hall.  Covenant friendships last a long time!

YOU'RE INVITED!
On Sunday, November 20, Covenant Presbyterian Church celebrated our 60th Anniversary, beginning in worship at 10:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary and continuing after worship in Fellowship Hall, with a special Potluck Luncheon and Anniversary Party.

Our festive anniversary worship service at 10:45 a.m. included a new congregational hymn composed by Music Director Donald Dillard for the occasion.

After worship, there was a program unlike any you’ve ever seen before at Covenant, featuring a cast of dozens of your favorite Covenant characters and lots of fun and music and special effects.

POTLUCK BY THE DECADES
Covenant’s photo files include pictures of Potlucks for All Seasons.  Many folks shared this special celebration by choosing a favorite potluck dish from the near or distant past.  Some of these tasty recipes appeared:
From the 1950s, Tuna-noodle casserole; Baked Alaska, Chicken Tetrazzini; from the 1960s, Baked chicken breasts supreme, Savory stuffed mushrooms, Waldorf salad; from the zany 1970s, Zucchini bread, Quiche Lorraine, Broccoli Casserole, Lemon Bars; from the 1980s, Monkey Bread, Pasta Salad, Chinese Chicken Salad. And if you’re into being up to date, from the 1990s, Your Choice; or from the 21st century 2000s, Favorites Today.
